Alone in paradise, Paris is left to wander in the shadows of heaven, mingling with the other lost souls, seeking out new meanings for his life, and falling prey to the local narcotic scene, a virtual-reality style experience that allows him to reenter his past memories. To find release, he will need to learn that it is better to be sad in reality than happy in illusion.

All the time, a magical force is watching Cortina's treatment of Samuel, and just when it seems like Cortina is winning, help arrives. This brings Rosa and Samuel together, but they have one last battle to win before they can be together.
